Title: Maintenance Manager


     Our client, servicing many of Canada’s largest retailers with a variety of Meat products is looking to add to their team a well-qualified Maintenance Manager for the day shift. This company has enjoyed over the years being recognized as on of Canada’s Best Managed Companies!!


The details:

  • $98,000 - $110,000 annual base salary
  • Reliable Transportation as there will be travel between 3 local locations
  • Eligible to participate in the Company's management bonus program commencing in 2021
  • 3 weeks holidays
  • 15% bonus plan
  • Benefits from Day 1
  • Straight Day Shift, Monday to Friday, some overtime and on call will be required

Reporting to the COO, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for a wide variety of reporting duties including:

  • Conduct regular facility inspections and complete company reports
  • Liaison between contractors and service providers
  • Continuous improvement to the PM Program
  • Support and oversea company repair and other major capital large projects
  • Manage the Maintenance Team
  • Manage and control maintenance parts inventory
  • Collaborate with Project Manager during the installation of new equipment, relocation of existing equipment and upgrades to existing equipment
  • Promote and ensure a safe work environment with strict adherence to H&S protocols
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with any company SOP’s and guidelines to safeguard product and process integrity
  • Maintenance planning and scheduling - Monitor and sustain Preventive and Proactive maintenance programs
  • Ensure Maintenance department maintains compliance with various government regulations including Environmental, OMAFRA, CFIA, TSSA and occupational health and safety

Maintenance Manager Requirements

  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Strong coordination, organization, and communication skills verbally and written in English
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Develop, maintain, and nurture a positive work environment

Maintenance Manager Qualifications

  • Millwright 433A and Refrigeration Class B operator certification are considered a strong asset
  • Experience in the food processing a VERY strong asset
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety regulations
  • A hands-on, process-oriented individual with exceptional proven leadership and managerial skills
  • HACCP knowledge and experience
  • Excellent knowledge of OMAFRA, CFIA and Environmental regulations/requirements
  • 5 + years Facilities or Maintenance management experience in a Food, Pharma, or Agricultural sector is required
  • Experience working in facilities regulated by CFIA and/or OMAFRA in general would be of value
  • Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, large HVAC systems, water treatment, and refrigeration
